It's lampshaded by a lot of characters- various members of Team Xen mock their blank stare and lack of speech, and Erin calls them 'mute' before she learns their actual name.
Heroic Mime: The player is not actually mute, but in previous versions didn't speak outside of the occasional dialogue option. The same Chapter also reveals that the Interceptor's next death will be the final one. Chapter 15 confirms that it's because the process that Crescent used to revive the Player characters also gave them the ability to revive repeatedly and that she has died once already for the Protagonist. According to Madame X, them being the Interceptor has something to do with their inability to die, meaning Crescent potentially had nothing to do with saving them from the lava either. Again, they come back just like last time. And the third time in the Bad Future after blocking a Decimate from Melanie's Yveltal that was meant for Melia. Then in Kugearen, they die when Indriad's maid detonates a bomb powerful enough to destroy the city, but this time, it's Madame X of all people who saves them and rewinds time to just before the explosion. Thankfully, Crescent's machinations ensures it doesn't stick. The first time is when they gets knocked into lava by Geara atop Valor Mountain. Hello, : As is usual in Pokemon games. All There in the Manual: According to Zumi, the game's artist, each player character has a canon personality (which can be made apparent by the Player Personality Quiz at the start of the game) and they are as follows: Aevis is confident, Aevia is reserved, Axel is a tricky memester, Ariana is peppy, Alain is annoyed 24/7, and Aero is studious and cool.
